    1. Every day, Tom and his mother and Baby went past kindergarten on their morning walk So begins this charming fiction book by Margaret Wild and David Legge Written for a young audience facing either kindergarten or another form of change in their life, the book sets the tone that change is not only good it s great Tom heads to his first day of with excitement, but that soon turns to fear as his parents go to leave him at class The teacher, Mrs Polar Bear, invites his parents, Mr and Mrs Panda, to [...]

    2. It s a cute story It makes housework visible done by both the mother and the father which I think is a very necessary thing in early childhood It talks about kindergarten being fun than what adults do and adults preferring to spend quality time with their children but having things they have to do.It portrays kindergarten as a safe and happy place to have fun and kindergarten teachers as wise, kind and in control So of course I had to love it I found the plot twist a little unlikely but in the [...]

    3. This book proves that even adults can still act like kids sometimes Encouraging children to see how lucky they are to get the opportunity to go to Kindergarten and play all day, Tom s mother and father are jealous when they drop him off for school Children can relate to this story because it may remind them of the way they felt when they started Kindergarten In the end, Tom gets to be a kid and play while his parents work and take care of him, but they will never forget that its ok to be silly s [...]

    4. i honestly read this to my preschoolers on an utter whim because it was on my shelving cart It ended up being charming and amusing, though I feel like adults might enjoy parts of it such as the transparent treatment of an adult s daily responsibilities.

    10. This book is good fr teaching students how to write something in a specific order Tom goes through his day in kindergarten and the author uses language such as, next and then to show when these events took place This book will help students learn how to tell or write an ordered story.

    11. I really enjoyed this book I think children can really realte to it It is always hard for children to go to their first day of kindergarten and it is also hard for the parents as you can seein this book

    13. Because childhood doesn t have to completely end Mother and Father Panda help Tom with his first day of Kindergarten and learn something valuable in return.

    14. Tom is so nervous to go to kindergarten that his parents decide to stay with him for one day The next day Tom is ready to go by himself, but his parents have their own plan.
