Todd, the Ugliest Kid on Earth Vol. 1 Comment

    1. Todd is forced to wear a paper bag with eye holes on his head because his parents and everyone else for that matter are complete pricks And supposedly he s super ugly But it never dampens his spirits and he s perennially cheerful Then an axe wielding child murderer starts lopping off kids heads and Todd gets the blame and still he remains chipper in the slammer How will a young boy survive in an adult s prison Will the police look past their inexplicable hatred of Todd and catch the real killer [...]

    3. This was an interesting book It felt a bit disjointed and incomplete as though it jumped around into different portions of the story with different people Lots of dark humor and twisted aspects, some of which seemed like they were included just to be shocking and potentially offensive The art was nice, though I was sort of expected from M.K.Perker because of Air, which I loved.I m sort of hard pressed to say whether I liked it or not It s not that it offended me I like Garth Ennis The Boys and [...]

    4. If you were ugly and was told everyday from parents, neighbors and gave people the creeps would you were a paper bag over your head Todd I guess is an ugly kid although we the reader don t get no visuals of this boy, but his mother is a slut actually both his parents are and on top of all that he is being framed for murder Decapitated heads, laughter and a hairy looking ugly dude who thinks he is God s gift to women It s a fun read.

    5. With an intro by Danny Trejo, you can expect this to be pretty violent, and it was, in a humorous way This book was actually quite funny You have all this bad in every way, everywhere, and in the middle you have little Todd, a middle school kid that only sees goodness and wonder He often chases butterflies while his murder is being plotted and tries to feed some cantankerous speaking cockroaches that want nothing to do with him He takes part in a prison blanket party and thinks it s just a fun t [...]

    6. This is a well crafted graphic novel The Mad Magazine Don Martin style of art feels appropriate for this story The writing is relatively strong, with a story that has some complexity and a touch of intrigue.Yet I greatly disliked this book.Todd, who is the ugliest kid on earth, wears a paper bag over his head at all times He s so ugly we can t even look at him But of course Todd s apparent physical ugliness is nothing compared to the inner ugliness of EVERYone else in this book Point taken, than [...]

    7. Original in the plot writing and how to give life to the characters, this comic is quite surprising.First, because you never see the hero, his head is in a paper bag So ugly that even the serial killer refuses to behead him it made me smile As if an ax murderer can be picky Then Todd seems to keep his innocence in all mishaps that happen to him The neighborhood children bully him with pranks and bad jokes, he finds himself in prison with criminals, his parents seems to forget about him but he co [...]

    8. I was repulsed by this book Nevermind the awesome street caricaturist style applied with the colorful palette of cartoons The characters in this book are downright horrible Just as their face and bodies are skewed caricature sketches, so are their personas Obscenely larger than life, the parade of people surrounding Todd, this innocent and blitheringly naive kid, have the worst on their minds Many are lustful to a fault Others are addicted to jumping to conclusions Some, perhaps the worst, allow [...]

    9. A funny depressing story of people s little cruelties to each other and the problems that these stem from Todd is a little boy whose parents make him wear a brown paper bag over his head He also routinely gets picked on, bullied and unfairly punished for other people s mistakes Miraculously, it never pushes him into despair and he takes a magical view of the world, interpreting every action as if it came from good His misadventures take you into the lives of several other dysfunctional people, i [...]

    10. As you might expect from a series titled Todd, The Ugliest Kid on Earth, this is a pretty cynical look at life Todd is so ugly that he has to wear a bag over his head But he is naive, and possibly the least ugly character in this book. When a maniac killer is on the loose, Todd is set up by neighborhood bullies as the prime suspect An opportunistic police detective sees his opportunity for fame and fortune Todd s parents are oblivious and unconcerned about having a child in prison And little Todd [...]

    11. This is Number One in the series.Todd is probably about 10, and is one of the friendliest kids ever, but his ugliness which we never see is always covered by the bag over his head His parents are asshats in fact, all the adults seem to be extreme characterizations of different social misfits. In this volume, someone is taking the heads of the most beautiful children, so Todd, unknowingly, escapes that fate He does become a suspect though then he s found with the dolls one of the murdered girls ha [...]

    12. Oh my gosh This comic is f ed up it s hysterical I loved it and couldn t wait to read all of the others so I did Hahahaha I love Todd I just want to squeeze him to death His innocence in life is refreshing and it kinda just shows me that kids have NO FRIGGIN CLUE There are a lot of characters in these comics that I only tolerate like Todd s dad and mom But the one character that I absolutely hate in this comic series is the Chief Ugh How self absorbed can you be I just can t stand him at all in [...]

    13. This sounded like it was going to be a lot of fun But by the end, I was just so disgusted with every adult character I don t think i ll read on I didn t get to spend nearly enough time with Todd, who was the only character who held any interest for me at all The art was interesting, and definitely supported the characterization of all the adults as grotesques The small glimpses of Todd s interactions with talking insects make me hope that we get to see of his experience later I don t know if it [...]

    14. I wish my book was signed as one of the co creators visited Tucson for its comic book convention I enjoyed this book immensely, recommended to those who have a funny bone toward dark, twisted humor I ll probably do some research on Eddie Bunker s life as I m not at all familar with his criminal history.

    15. I liked this book a lot It centres around Todd, a young kid with ugliness so bad it has to be masked with a paper bag all the time, not at all hindering his friendliness and want for friends There is an interesting comparison between the sweet, innocence of Todd and the harsh reality of the adults around him I am interested in seeing .

    16. This is such a fun, over the top book Todd is the sweetest kid ever, and he s surrounded by the nastiest excuses for human beings that could ever be And there s a glossary of prison lingo in the back How awesome is that I can see where this book might not be for everyone, but I found it hilarious.

    17. Somewhere between South Park and Candide, a child so repulsive we never see him without the bag on his head And yet, his naive readiness always to believe the best remains intact The parade of horrors he negotiates is exactly the sort of thing I find funnyd yet I don t Still, Danny Trejo provides the enthusiastic intro, and no way do I fancy arguing the point with him.

    18. 3edgy5methe author tries to satirize the world but it s so unaware of people outside their purview that it just doesn t and instead you come away wondering why the author felt it was necessary to make you read pedo jokes.

    19. The sweetest comic ever written that includes a child serial murderer and a kid going to jail for it I know it sounds strange, and it is but it s also endearing and totally funny.

    20. I read half If the art hadn t turned me off like, horrible 80s Mad Magazine shit , the story would have on its own No, thank you.

    21. this was pretty awfulredeeming quality jail glossary in the back so if you ever wanted to know what a blanket party actually means check this out
