    4. Really enjoyed this Benny James, the former FBI agent, is a great central character Funny but smart Reminds of the Myron Bolitar character in the Harlem Coben books which I loved.Fun relationship with his tv anchor girlfriend too.Nice chewy series of crimes to solve.

    5. Not a deep mystery A bit of a stretch with Red portrayed as seemingly simple perhaps a savant The challenges jealousy among profess Is probably a fair portrayal and the ultimate unveiling was not a total surprise. The book, a quick read kept my attention.

    12. I m beginning to love these characters Especially Red, but really the entire cast in this series are complex and interesting The story takes some wild turns, but careful reading keeps the reader just ahead of the main characters discoveries Benny is not quite Sherlock Holmes, but he is somewhere near Rockford in abilities and his cases are far contemporary Just plain good old entertainment I will probably read these books as long as new ones are being created I find them a great diversion.

    13. Wonderful charactersI could not imagine a group of characters as interesting as these, which is why I read novels rather than write them The crazed minister of a Mississippi mega church with cult like qualities hires a former FBI investigator turned Private Investigator to find his son, suspected of being a serial killer Benny James assembles a team of very eccentric but lovable helpers and proceeds to close the case successfully Writing might spoil the story for readers of this review Just get [...]
