    Goldenseal Comment

    1. The main thing you need to learn from this review, is to not read any other reviews about this book Just buy it.I originally skipped this book because reviews had me thinking i wouldn t like it But it wasn t nearly as scarey as some people reported, and i didn t spot certain other things that one reviewer didn t like non con So, the thing to know here, is to always trust the author before you trust reviews If you know Gill McKnight s work and like her writing, just get this first book and save y [...]

    2. This book started off kind of slow, but picked up pace quite nicely It is an entertaining tale of paranormal love. While I will now harp on a couple of negatives, I don t want to leave the impression that the book was not good It is.But It s really hard to have a novel that you know is a werewolf novel, but the main character spends a majority of her time working through a puzzle of information to find out what you ve been screaming the whole time They re freaking werewolves Look at the cover of [...]

    3. It seems that everyone and their girlfriend has already read this except me Its been in my reading queue forever The author has just released a 4th book for the series and the good reviews are in.Once I started reading Goldenseal, I suddenly recalled that I HAD read this before but never bothered to finish it The reason why is In the first few chapters of the book, the lead character is annoying as hell Fortunately, things get better and the intriguing mystery and suspense is enough to save the [...]

    4. I did not care for the bestiality aspect of this or the near rape of the MC, Amy Not sure I want to continue on with this series I read this because the series has such high ratings.

    5. After so many people told me that Falling Star wasn t really her best book, this one practically fell into my hands After it fell, the person who threw it told me that really, this wasn t her best book either Heh.Anyhoo I liked it while reading it Now there s an issue that destroys the whole story for me the longer I think about it.It s fantasy, which really isn t my thing a lot of the time, but I m learning that there are only certain elements of fantasy I don t like, like elves, for some reaso [...]

    6. I loved this book, the first in Gill s werewolf series It is a breakthrough novel for her, I think Funny, sexy It makes you want to howl a little on your own It is a must read, in my opinion.

    7. I read this book after Ambereye. Many comments say that Ambereye, book 2 of the Garoul series, is better than Goldenseal, book 1.I don t know if I agree they are very different.I really liked Ambereye which is almost all romance, with the main character Jolie really amusing, so nervous and sweet.Goldenseal, on the other hand, is a wonderful mistery book and the one of the best view spoiler werewolf hide spoiler novel I have ever read.Leone Garoul si really a problematic character, walking on the [...]

    8. 2.5 starsThe beginning was promising and I was pulled in and kept in, entranced by the layout Gill McKnight sets The Garoul family clan, really and the land they own Amy comes across as intricately woven in among them and yet separate, and Leone a powerful personality, daughter of the owner of the land and leader of the family, a head strong woman who is determined to right wrongs that happened in their youth. As the novel went on the plot grew and detail, and exciting and then passed the poi [...]

    9. This is the first book I ve read by McKnight and I was very impressed I read it in a day and a half and found myself lost in the world she created I could feel the weather and smell the forest and when a book does that, it s one I ll come back to again I really enjoyed spending time with the characters and the plot was gripping and tense This is one of the first romance thrillers I ve read that actually scared me at points I wouldn t classify it as a horror over all, but the elements of horror f [...]

    10. I really enjoyed this book, even if I wanted to smack the living daylights out of the Leone character for not spilling any info when Amy starts finding some seriously unavoidable evidence regarding the mysteries of the valley.Overall though, great humor, good snarky dialogue and I ll probably almost immediately start reading the rest of the series posthaste

    11. Superb Someone runs amok and they had to hunt down this evil This evil who poses a threat for the whole family Amy wants nothing to do with Leone and she would do anything to avoid her When Amy must return to Little Dip, she finds danger, intrigue, heartache and a very different life Totally different as when she left so many years ago Her instinct screams to walk away but she can t, she has work to do This is a gripping, suspenseful story with lots of love and packed full of actions A story wit [...]

    12. I loved this book Having just read Little Dip which told the story of how it all began for Marie and Connie and the Garoul Series, I was desperate to get the whole set Goldenseal is the story of Amy and Leone and lets the reader see the world of the Garouls from the point of view of someone completely in the dark about it all Amy may have spent a lot of her childhood on the compound with her aunt Connie but that doesn t mean she is party to all of their secrets When she comes back to help with t [...]

    13. In Goldenseal, the world of Little Dip, and the Garoul family that preserve it, is well enough drawn to have you believing in werewolves almost The story is funny, a little spooky and has enough tension to keep the pages turning long after the lights should be out The main characters are full of a passion and intensity that is really compelling And despite the strange setting, the issues are really relevant For me, Leone s fears and insecurities are kind of universal It s scary letting people se [...]

    14. I liked parts of this book, but I did react pretty strongly to some issues It was exciting and kept me reading it all night long, but the thing with the non consensual sex really kind of ruined for me.

    15. Rereading with the Mostly Lesfic group Just finished and still love it Same rating as first read Really enjoyed this book See my review at reviews.c spot archives 35

    16. I don t want to say too much because this would be a very easy book to spoil, but I really liked it and would definitely recommend it.

    17. This was a very fun and sexy read I don t read a lot of paranormal books, but this one really captured my imagination I loved the setting and the author did an excellent job creating the world of Little Dip and by the end of the book I felt like wolven living amongst us didn t seem that implausible.A very enjoyable read and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

    18. This book is actually one of the better supernatural lesbian romances out there Instead of focusing on just the developing romance between the two characters, it incorporated an actual plot I found myself asking a lot of questions and formulating my own guesses as to who dun it Other elements totally baffled me as to what they could mean Best of all, the answers I sought were than satisfactory. The main theme is obviously werewolves and it was pretty clear from the get go who was what However, a [...]

    19. By far one of the worst books I ve read in a loooong time The characterization is so hard to follow and be interested Its not until page 137 that you have an inkling of what is already going on I m exceedingly frustrated by the fact that Amy says Leone is controlling and overstepping boundaries, complains about her behavior every other time and yet still opens her legs even though there was no mending their old relationship or attempt at a new one There was no build up to the conflict until you [...]

    20. Not a bad story, but the character development wasn t deep enough for me and there s a sex scene that comes too close to being non consensual and it s never addressed by the characters I really liked the sequel, Ambereye, though.

    21. Well done I really liked all the characters Amy and Leone were adorable in their tug of war about admitting they still loved each other All the remaining supporting characters were excellent

    22. Loved the direction the book went and how the story unfolded, great characters, and good handeling of backstory without pulling the reader out of the current tale.

    23. Goldenseal is a lesbian werewolf romance novel Amy, a botanical illustrator, returns to the enclave of the Garoul family in the Pacific northwest, a place she spent every summer of her youth until her ex girlfriend Leone Garoul broke her heart Now she just wants to finish the job and make sure that her Aunt Connie is okay and then get back to her new life But Leone has other ideas, and insists on following Amy all around the woods for her protection. This book is an example of how a good ending c [...]

    24. I liked this book, it has some tense and eerie parts that I absolutely loved, the mystic part of this book is good I think the main drawback is the intensity of Leone, who is a rather creepy and pushy character, it all feels rather I hate to use this term but, she feels rapey, the amount of crap she gets away with saying or doing to Amy is annoying The whole you are mine thing is really disconcerting, and it ticks a dozen red flags, if this had been me I would ve taken the Nope train to Fuck Tha [...]

    25. Absolutely awesome I just love Leone and Amy and I can t get enough of them This story kept me entertained and enthralled long into the night I love a good preternatural thriller coupled with romance After reading this story I am greedy for of this amazing series
