    2. I had the opportunity to review a very intriguing book the other day Here is what the back cover says A BYU Idaho choir tour in British Columbia turns out to be anything but ordinary when soloist Stacie Cox spots a kidnapped child from Rexburg during a performance Before Stacie can alert the authorities, the little girl disappears Stacie vows to find and rescue her, a choice that forces her to deal with her guilt ridden past and another little girl that haunts her dreams When the handsome Matt B [...]

    3. Another author that is exceptional at writing a book so gripping that it can t be put down This story deals with the issue of a college student, Stacie who lost her parents at a young age and has concluded that she will never marry because she doesn t want to leave her child with the hurt and loss of her It s a lesson is never allowing love in order not to be hurt or hurt others when bad things may happen Her mother died early of cancer like past relations and although her mother gave her life s [...]

    4. I loved it It was such a good book and I was so excited to keep reading it and finished it in a day It wasn t a difficult read, it was just hard to follow the main plot because she tended to word thingsquickly Once she explained it once in one sentence, she never said it again and continued on with the story Where I read so fast, I tend to not catch up on those things because I m absorbing so many things at once Maybe if I had read it slower, I would have caught all those small things That s why [...]

    5. Missing by Ronda Gibb HinrichsenFor a first time novel, Ronda did herself proud I really enjoyed this suspense story, not really knowing until the end, why Beckka was kidnapped from her home in Rexburg, Idaho Stacie Cox, a young college girl on tour in Vancouver, British Columbia, with her BYU Choir, is singing a solo at Craigdarroch Castle, when she spots Beckka with a strange woman When they disappear, Stacie gets help from Matt Brennan, a friend she is beginning to have feelings for, but has [...]

    6. I went into this book with high hopes I d heard so many great things about it how gripping, how suspenseful, what a page turner And I love a good read But when I closed the book after finishing it, I have to admit I was a little disappointed.Technically, Missing could have benefited from another round or two of editing While I realize it s impossible to catch everything, two punctuation mistakes on the first page of chapter one were a little off putting I found a place or two where words were mi [...]

    7. I would actually give it about 3.5 stars I did enjoy it, but the longer I think about it, the questions I have Since it deals with kidnapping of a child, it may not be the ideal book for a parent Here are some of my questions Spoilers Why did Adrienne kidnap Becka To become a Riana But then why did she abandon Becka at the end Matt seemed to turn in a different person by the end of the book At the beginning, he seemed quiet, off ish, slightly disagreeable, silent By the end, he had become a sim [...]

    8. I have been on several choir tours, but never like the one Stacie Cox experiences during the BYU Idaho choir tour in British Columbia When Stacie stands to sing a solo during a concert at the Craigdarroch Castle, she sees, standing in the back of the room, four year old Becka, who months earlier had been kidnapped from Rexburg Before the song ends, a woman leads the child out of the building.Though she had never previously met Becka, she had been very involved in the initial search in Rexburg No [...]

    9. Missing s subtitle, An LDS Mystery Novel , is slightly inaccurate as Missing is actually of a suspense novel than a mystery We know almost from the beginning who committed the crime , but that in no way detracts from the fast paced twists and turns that await the reader The heroine, Stacie, is a warm and sympathetic character, while Adrienne, the villain, is so diametrically the opposite that the reader will find great pleasure in wincing at her awfulness and rooting for her defeat Missing is s [...]

    10. I thought about being kind and saying it was ok, but it really wasn t I didn t like it and wouldn t read it again or recommend it to anyone When I find myself exclaiming out loud oh, brother over and over again, it is a red flag that the book isn t working for me I don t have the book to refer to any longer so can t give examples I do remember the description of the main character pulling the gingerbread cookies out of the oven took nearly a page when it could have been stated in one sentence an [...]

    11. Even though this is a typical LDS mystery, I was surprised by how much I liked it I liked how it explained the background of what happened to the main girl so that you understood why she was so driven to find this missing girl she had never met before I did think she got away with a little too much with her choir director but I did like the little love triangle My heart went out to the little girl who trusted the wrong person and was treated so poorly I got caught up in the story and wanted the [...]

    12. This is probably the best LDS novel I ve read I actually found myself wishing for LDS elements because there really weren t any until the last few chapters Because of that, despite the book cover saying it s an LDS mystery, I think it s a mystery that would be enjoyed by any spiritual minded person, regardless of religion.A really great page turner, Missing had me going right from the beginning There were plenty of reasons to keep reading, believable and endearing characters and trouble piled o [...]

    13. This book was exciting and suspenseful Stacie Cox is on a choir tour with her school in Canada and during one of their concerts, she sees a little girl that has been missing from her town for a couple years She then spends the rest of the time in Canada trying to find the girl and bring her home While this is all happening, Stacie is caught in a love triangle but she says that she won t marry anyone because her family has a history of breast cancer in all the woman This is a great book on knowin [...]

    14. I really liked the story, the concept, the characters, the idea, everything It kept me on the edge of my seat and I was highly entertained I read it during a long trip home and it made the trip much pleasant than it would have been Really, my only complaint is totally unrelated to the writing the cover design I m a graphic designer and do judge books by their covers I d seen it around a lot, but had never picked it up If I had not met the author at Costco and heard her description of the story [...]

    15. This book was good but not the best For some reason, several things in it bothered me I hated how Matt seemed to easily dump his girlfriend that he was going to propose to for a girl that he d barely spoken to That normally doesn t bother me, but it did in this book I DID like how the author explained her background and why she was so obsessed with finding this new girl I liked the story as a whole since I have had dreams of finding missing children before Weird, I know But I m glad it turned ou [...]

    16. One day as I was walking by the book section in my local CostCo I was given a flyer about this book by the author I went up the aisle a bit, and then turned around and went back and told her I would buy her book As she was signing my book she told me that this is her first novel.I think that Hinrichsen did a good job with this book I found the story line intriguing It was a fun read. There were a few problems with editinghopefully, that will be taken care of if there are later editions published. [...]

    17. 2.5 stars It s really not that bad, it s just not that good either Better toward the end than the beginning It shows promise, but lacked depth in the characters and had gaps that I found distracting It did keep you guessing, not at whodunit, but at their motives I did find the parts that had to do with the missing little girl particularly heart wrenching, and found myself getting emotional as I related these horrific possibilities to my own kids I will read her next one, just to see.

    18. I kept turning pages, though it took me a few chapters to be clear on what was going on, who was who, and where everyone was Once the plot got rolling, I was hooked The plot turns were well timed and unpredictable, and I liked the main characters, hated the villains.I ran into a few clothing descriptions in odd places, some of the dialogue of male characters a little off not what a guy would say , but I was drawn quickly back into the forward motion of the story, reading non stop until 2 am.A gr [...]

    19. 2.5 is my ratingI thought she had a great story idea but I didn t like that the MAJORITY of the book is dialogue, that you don t get very much depth with the characters until it is vital and that on the cover it says LDS Mystery Novel but RARELY in the book are there any LDS connections besides saying they are in the Relief Society Room, attending BYU Idaho and then at the very end there are a few prayers.I hope she continues to write and get better, she has a great talent

    20. I think this book is very gripping and well written I like the way the author structured her characters, all with very distinct aspirations and personalities The protagonist was unique, thrifty and likable, just as the kidnapper was despised The story line is simple, yet holds some unexpected twists and turns that left me in desperation of what the upcoming chapter would dictate Definitely worth reading.

    21. I Found this to be another read that was really Hard to put down, It was Remenicent of Novels like Agitha Christy s And Then There were None , but geared toward the 21st century full of action and suppense that was shown from two different points of view Which for me only want to dive in deeper.I also Loved the main Characters drive and determination to not stop searching untill She solved the case A great Sherlock Holmes Style Adventure.

    22. I read this book in less than two days I was tempted to throw it out because of the lame romance side of the story that was poorly developed, but forcibly added since this is an LDS novel However, I prevailed and was mildly interested in the mystery aspect of it All in all, I think this book is most appropriate for young teenage LDS.

    23. Great story line that built the plots credibility giving it s twists a realistic view I loved going down memory lane to the places I remember in RexburgPorter Park, Broulims, and campus I loved that place and so it was easy for me to picture things too Even so if I hadn t lived there for some time I still would get the picture The ending is so intense I didn t want to put it down.

    24. Very compelling book I thought it was quite well done The heroine was a very strong, determined woman However, some of her motivations in the side plots didn t ring completely true to me But as for the main storyline, I thought Hinrichsen did an amazing job keeping the suspense up until the very end.

    25. I really wasn t sure how I would like this book I live just south of Rexburg and I always feel a bit of misgivings when a book is set there For some reason I m not a huge fan of the books set in my neighborhood But I really enjoyed this one It moved quickly, the characters were great and the ending didn t fall flat, which I was worried would happen Well done and I will read from her

    26. I met Rhonda at a book signing and she was very nice At the time I had picked up a copy of her book from the library as I wanted to read it before meeting her I enjoyed this book and the story but I think it didn t flow quite as well as it could have As this is her first book, however, I think she did a great job and I think its worth the read Keep it up Rhonda I m right on your heels

    27. I literally read this book in one day I loved it I loved how I was able to put myself in her situation It s really a must read I also loved it because I share some of the same values as Stacie in the book This book includes mystery, suspense and some romance it is really a must read for teens

    28. This was an exciting story It was unique and entertaining The writing was a little confusing at some points, but the story kept me interested I hope this author keeps writing because she has great potential.

    29. This was the first book I had read in quite a while, and it was amazing for me It helped me get back into enjoying reading again It was very well written and I enjoyed the plot line and character development.
